In 1948, the former Ministry of Communication brought into existence a state company known by the name of Centralne Biuro Studiów i Projektów Komunikacji in Warsaw, which established its agency in Kraków in 1950. The agency, having Mr. Władysław Sitarski as its director, was the place of origin for the very first personnel of Transprojekt Kraków.
On 28 July 1951, newly established Ministry of Road and Air Transport reorganised the designing units and created Centralne Biuro Studiów i Projektów Transportu Drogowego i Lotniczego in Warsaw and on 1 August 1951 CBSiPTDiL Division no 2 in Kraków. Mr. Tadeusz Wojciechowski was appointed as the division manager. The personnel of the Office was estimated for 145 people employed in four confined premises in Wielopole St., Sarego St., Basztowa St. and Westerplatte St. (subsequently also in Karmelicka St., Garncarska St. and Fabryczna St.). Two road departments, bridge department and road team were established in Cieszyn.
On 1 May 1953 Mr. Antoni Kajda became the manager and in 1955 he was appointed as the director. Mr. Kajda performed those duties until he retired on 31 December 1982.
On 29 June 1957 Division no 2 was transformed into an independent company named Krakowskie Biuro Projektów Transportu Drogowego i Lotniczego.

In the same year the Office established the land survey team transformed subsequently into land survey department.
In 1959 road design team with its seat in Cieszyn was transformed into design team in Katowice, which in 1963 developed into design department and in 1968 into Road Department in Katowice as the Office branch. One year later a branch office in Rzeszów was established.

In 1968 the Office commenced to adopt the electronic calculation technology, originally to design bridges and later also for other design tasks.

In January 1970 the Office moved into new building in 25 Mogilska St., what significantly improved office space conditions. This fact made the way to establish the utilities department, dealing with construction and reconstruction of public utility services, like power supply, telecommunication, water supply/sewerage, gas supply and land reclamation.
On 14 May 1970 the Office changed its name to Krakowskie Biuro Projektów Dróg i Mostów. At the beginning of 1976 the Office received Wang minicomputer and computer team was established.
In 1982 Mr. Józef Jarzynka was appointed as the director of the Office.
In 1991, after political transformation in Poland, the company was made private, i.e. the shares were bought by the employees, and since then the company has been acting as Co. Ltd. Mr. Tadeusz Słowakiewicz was elected the director and performed his duties for two terms until 1997. Next director was Mr. Zbigniew Fijałkowski and since 1999 the duty has been performed by Mr. Andrzej Dziduszko.
